Acivico completes phase two of The Pines School

Acivico is pleased to announce the completion of the phase two refurbishment project to The Pines School in Birmingham. Following on from the new build facilities provided within phase one and completed in 2016, Acivico have once again teamed up with Morgan Sindall via the Constructing West Midlands framework.

The phase two project was completed mid-April 2019 and consisted of a complete refurbishment of the third floor.

The revitalised facilities now provide staff and students with four new classrooms, a break-out space, WC facilities and kitchenette area. The works also included part refurbishment of the second floor, alteration of the existing sensory room and adjacent classroom, to create two classrooms and the creation of two new additional windows to increase natural daylight to these areas. Additional works included minor alterations to the ground and first floor showers, the creation of an additional external door to the KS2 classroom along with the complete renewal of roof coverings to the front half of the school.

Phase one consisted of an £6.9m new building for the school, which was delivered on budget and ahead of programme. The new building offered an additional 200 student places to the largest all through school in the West Midlands, specialising in educating children with autism. Acivico have provided both project management and Principal Designer services to both phases of the contract.
