Birmingham City Centre’s festive lights are once again illuminating the city thanks to Acivico Group.  A key part of the city’s festive decorations, the lights have been installed and maintained by Acivico for more than 20 years.

Acivico is responsible for the installation, removal and maintenance of no less than 42 decorative lighting schemes.  Across the greater Birmingham area, it has installed: 850 LED motifs which each feature between 200 and 300 individual LED lights; 30 cross street decorations of 18 metres in length, and 20 Christmas trees which are up to 15 metres in height.  Acivico has also been responsible for installing the centre piece of this year’s festive lighting display – a 12-metre high, full LED Christmas tree, situated at the junction of Victoria Square and New Street in Birmingham’s city centre.

By using LEDs instead of the traditional filament lights used in previous years, Acivico has delivered a 75% saving in energy use. When the festive season is over, all decorations are maintained for a period of up to three years.  The lighting displays are then rebuilt.

Thanks also go to local business group, Retail BID Birmingham, which has helped fund the provision of the lights throughout the suburban districts.
