Fronting Broad Street and adjacent to Centenary Square and new Birmingham Library, the 9.2 acre Arena Central site is set to  deliver 1.2 million sq ft of mixed-use development, including a landmark office led mixed use scheme designed by MAKE Architects for HSBC, set within a brand new landscaped public realm.

In total, 860,000 sq ft of development Grade A office accommodation, over 200,000 sq ft of residential units, 2,500 car parking spaces and more than 1.2 m sq ft of retail/leisure units are to be constructed, along with a 210-bedroom Holiday Inn Express hotel, constructed by John Sisk & Son.

Galliford Try West Midlands and South West were selected to deliver the 210,000 sq ft, 1 Centenary Square for HSBC, together with over £10m of innovative public realm, designed by acclaimed landscape architectural practice Gillespies, comprising over 50 per cent soft landscaping to create an ‘urban meadow’ running from the north to the south of the site. The works will also include the creation of Bank Court, a new public courtyard behind 301 Broad Street and extensive new landscaping around Alpha Tower.

Acivico (Building Consultancy) Ltd is delighted to have been appointed to deliver building regulation services on both the Holiday Inn Express and ‘2 Arena Central’ and to have the opportunity to continue its long-established working relationship with both contractors.
