The brief was to provide an innovative solution which not only complied with the requirements to be economically designed but also compliant with BIM.
BIM solution
The use of REVIT software for all disciplines provided an opportunity for effective collaboration with the team throughout and mitigated arising issues as the project progressed. In conjunction with REVIT, the 3D animated software was utilised to convey the essence of the project to the client and provided a tangible and visual representation of the design.
Stakeholder Liaison
Acivico worked closely with all stakeholders from the early stage of design. This included attendance at the public consultation pre planning stage. We overcome the objection of the locality of the building by reinforcing the overall design solution and ensured all stakeholder concerns were mitigated.
This level of stakeholder communication continued to the final design solution. Stakeholders were invited to be involved throughout the process and ensured all interested parties were content with the final result. This was further reinforced by Acivico hosting open days and design review sessions.
We are delighted with our new building which presents new opportunities for our children. The children and staff now work in a clean, modern environment with much improved facilities. The design has provided us with a light and spacious environment which can only have a positive impact on children’s learning. We would like to thank the team from Acivico, Balfour Beatty and the local authority who did everything they could to ensure that the building process was smooth and caused minimal disruption.
