Acivico are currently providing Project Management and Principal Designer Services for the £700k Grade II* listed refurbishment project at Highbury Hall in Birmingham.
On Friday 8th February, Highbury will be featured on the ‘Great British Rail Journeys programme on BB2, at 6.30pm. The programme features Michael Portillo travelling from Birmingham to Stoke-on- Trent. In Birmingham, he visits Highbury, the home of Joseph Chamberlain and talks about the estate and Chamberlain’s political career.
Acivico Project Management team have appointed Purcell, the renowned conservation architectural practice to support with the contract. Works include part re-roofing, removal of asbestos from cellars and renewing windows / roof lights together with all associated safe access scaffolding etc.
Whilst parts of the building will be vacated during the works, the main hall is required to remain operational for events, weddings etc. which creates additional complexities for the Acivico Principal Designer team.
Acivico, as Principal Designer, have worked closely with the client and designer to ensure relevant pre-construction information has been provided (e.g. asbestos surveys, building condition surveys, roof condition surveys, structural engineer reports etc.) as part of the tender package to assist the Principal Contractor (once appointed) in safely planning and managing the works during the construction period.
The scheme is currently out to tender.
