On 28th September Acivico colleagues joined Shadow Digital Minister Liam Byrne MP at a ribbon cutting ceremony to formally open the expanded Brownmead Academy in his Birmingham Hodge Hill constituency.
At the ceremony, Head Teacher Ashley Winters led an uplifting assembly entitled ‘New Beginnings’ featuring a rousing performance by the school choir, followed soon after by the formal ribbon cutting across the entry to the brand new block .
The celebrations follow the completion and handover of the extension which will eventually provide 210 extra primary school places for local children. The Acivico team project managed the modular offsite building allowing for speedy construction of the classrooms in a controlled and safe environment whilst realising efficiencies in both time and budget .
Mr Winters has praised the project saying; “From start to finish – the school’s needs were at the heart of the conversations The relationship between us and Acivico meant that we were able to get on with the day to day business of being a school – whilst the build was expertly managed. A great service!”
Acivico Education Account Manager Ryan Turner said; “It has been a great honour to be here today and see the space being used and enjoyed by the increased school intake for the new school year. My team have enjoyed forming an excellent partnership working with Brownmead Academy and we look forward to developing these ties as we continue to work with the Washwood Heath Multi Academy Trust delivering additional places on other projects across the city”
More to come … The £2.1m project was completed in July of this year and is just one project amongst wider works being conducted for the Washwood Heath Academy Trust including the Tile Cross Academy, Washwood Heath Academy and Saltley Academy sites.
