Harvey Kalirai, Acivico’s HR Adviser, delighted NHS staff at Russell Hall Hospital with a variety of wellbeing gifts last week, to show her personal appreciation for their work. Harvey was shocked to read about how doctors and nurses are suffering with skin irritations on their hands and face, due to the extensive PPE they are wearing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Spurred on by this, Harvey delivered over the Easter break a selection of goodies to show her support for their work.
Harvey explained; “I have been reading about the doctors and nurses who are working excessive hours, going above and beyond their duties. I really empathise with what they are doing for all the community and I just wanted to do something in return to show my appreciation. It is just awful how their PPE is creating such painful skin irritations and the extensive time spent on their feet. I delivered a gift basket full of hand and foot cream along with some lip moisturiser sticks. A selection of Easter eggs too, to cheer them up on their long shifts, everyone loves a little chocolate!
I donated the gift to my local hospital in Dudley, Russells Hall Hospital, where I also recently had my physio treatment, following a nasty break in my foot. Their care for me was nothing but fantastic. They seemed to really appreciate my gift and I was really humbled by their response. I am so happy I could offer them a little something for the brilliant work they do”.
