The project is the third scheme Acivico and Balfour Beatty have partnered with and successfully completed, on behalf of the Washwood Heath Multi Academy Trust. Both Brownmead Academy and Washwood Heath Academy completed in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
Pete White, Headteacher at Saltley Academy said;’ Even COVID-19 did not stop Acivico and Balfour Beatty delivering on time for us to open. I cannot wait to speak to the children and see what they think of the new facilities, I am certain they will be delighted with how big and open the school now feels. These new facilities have secured Saltley’s growth for the next five years, which is imperative within these uncertain times.’
Jon Kiteley, Balfour Beatty Area Director for North & Midlands, said: ”Delivering the new teaching facilities for Saltley Academy is a notable achievement, having successfully completed the project ahead of schedule. It has been a pleasure to work with Washwood Heath Multi Academy Trust on our third consecutive project together; providing a first class educational facility that will significantly enhance the learning experience of those who attend.”
The opening of Saltley Academy will be formally acknowledged at a celebratory ceremony, to be scheduled in the near future.
