Building Regulations (Building Control)

Why

Building Regulations

Service

From 6th April 2024 your Building Regulation project will be assessed and inspected by a Registered Building Inspector.

Changes to legislation mean that the designers and contractor appointed by the client have responsibility for designing and constructing compliant buildings and that the client has the responsibility to ensure that those persons appointed have sufficient competence in respect of the works being undertaken to ensure the works comply with the requirements of the Building Regulations.

The Registered Building Inspector will inspect building works at key stages where there is the potential for non-compliance, however they are unable to offer advice relating to the design of the project and can only advise on the appropriate guidance to be followed.

We will no longer be attend site purely to discuss the next steps or offer advice in respect of the design and construction.

At completion we will only visit the site once we have received the appropriate declarations from the client, principal designer and principal contractor that the works are complete and in compliance with the Building Regulations.

The responsibility for compliance remains with the client and their appointed designers and contractors.
