Case Study Spotlight: Ward End Park House 

Our latest decarbonisation survey focused on Ward End Park House, a historic, Grade II-listed building also known as “The White House,” located in Ward End Park, Birmingham. Dating back to 1759, the building required urgent attention to preserve its heritage and return it to functional use. 

Commissioned by Birmingham City Council, Acivico conducted a comprehensive building and mechanical services assessment to make the structure watertight and restore heating, key steps toward safe occupancy and sustainable reuse. 

As part of this project, Acivico was also commissioned to deliver a decarbonisation feasibility study up to RIBA Stage 2 in support of a future Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) funding application. This included a detailed evaluation of the building’s current condition, identification of suitable Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs), and the development of proposals that align with both performance goals and the building’s historic character.
