From initial assessments through to final handover, we manage the complete retrofit lifecycle, seamlessly integrating project delivery with community engagement, compliance, and long-term performance monitoring. 

Our domestic retrofit expertise includes the successful delivery of large-scale programmes under Local Authority Delivery (LAD) Phases 2 and 3, as well as the Home Upgrade Grant (HUG1), on behalf of Birmingham City Council. Notably, our LAD3 project is recognised as the largest single LAD3 scheme in the UK, delivering 45% more homes than the next largest project.  

As Principal Contractor, Acivico managed the full end-to-end delivery process. This included everything from initial data mapping and stakeholder engagement to resident liaison, post-installation evaluation, and ongoing customer support, ensuring a resident-focused, PAS 2035-compliant service at every stage.

We manage the entire retrofit lifecycle, from initial property assessments through to design, installation and post-installation evaluation. With a dedicated Project Manager overseeing procurement, contractor coordination, delivery and risk management, we ensure every stage of the programme runs smoothly, on time and within budget. 

Our team works in close collaboration with local authorities, housing providers and delivery partners to tailor retrofit strategies that align with the specific requirements of each property and community. Every measure, from insulation upgrades to low-carbon heating solutions, is implemented safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to residents.

Case Study Spotlight: LAD3 – Neighbourhood-Led Retrofit 

Acivico played a pivotal role in delivering one of the UK’s most ambitious domestic retrofit programmes under LAD3, leading a community-driven approach on behalf of Birmingham City Council. 

Project Highlights: 

• Part of the Midlands Net Zero Hub regional consortium, comprising 43 local authorities 

• Delivered 1,091 energy efficiency measures across 646 homes 

• Accounted for 15% of all upgraded homes across the region 

• Responsible for 19% of all measures installed consortium-wide
